Motor Vendor Educational Opportunities

Over the course of the year, the Business Partners Program for Motor Systems offers educational opportunities for enrolled vendors to improve their technical and sales skills. Two opportunities are listed below:

Energy Savings Through Motor Management

thumbnail images of motor management plan decision tree This seminar begins by discussing NYSERDA’s mission, funding, and the utilities participating in the program. The seminar offers a description of the Energy Policy Act (EPAct) of 1992 and its impact on the motor business. EPAct motors are defined and compared to NEMA Premium® motors. The discussion turns to the benefits of establishing a motor management plan and how a motor purchaser can get started in the process. The presentation describes, in detail, the steps needed to develop a motor management plan and the tools available to assist the motor purchaser.

A significant portion of the seminar is devoted to the demonstration of MotorMaster+ Software and how to use it. Real world examples are provided and attendees will receive a FREE copy of the software at the end of the seminar.

While the seminar is geared to motor purchasers, it is important for motor vendors to understand the process as well. A motor vendor that understands how to create a motor management plan will be a valuable resource to his customers.

Energized Sales Workshops

A Sales Workshop In today’s information-based world, it is more important than ever to understand how people communicate. All of us have developed distinctive behavioral patterns. They are our personal ways of thinking, acting and communicating. Not understanding your own personal style and how that style interacts with other people, can lead to misunderstanding, miscommunication and lost motor sales. Making changes in the way you approach and talk with potential clients can dramatically increase your sales of NEMA Premium® motors. During this half-day workshop, you will learn to identify your personal style and how to effectively communicate with the other styles. It is fun and easier than you think. A side benefit is learning about communication styles that will help you with your personal and work relationships, as well as building your sales skills.
