Program Overview
What is the goal of the New York Energy $martSM Business Partners Program for Motor Systems?The Program exists to promote energy conservation through the purchase and use of NEMA Premium® efficient electric motors throughout New York State.
Why? Almost 70% of industrial and commercial electric demand in our state is created by electric motors and motor-driven systems.
NYSERDA offers programs tailored to both motor purchasers and motor vendors to promote the purchase and use of NEMA Premium® motors.
Instead of simply convincing industrial and commercial customers to buy NEMA Premiun® motors, we want them to understand why they should! We offer motor workshops that you, a motor vendor, can invite your customers to attend. We also offer training and assistance to our motor vendors so you will have the tools you need to explain the benefits of purchasing and installing NEMA Premium® motors to your customers. Once your customers understand the benefits of using NEMA Premium® motors in their processes, we're confident they'll never want to return to "business as usual."
